Wentworth Technologies
Injection Mould Group Comes To Europe
Automotive Manufacturing Solutions,
April 2002
Accurate Mould, part of the
Wentworth Technologies Injection Mould Group based in Toronto,
Ontario, Canada, has been joined by two new European mold-making
facilities. In December 2001, Wentworth Tech Central Sp.zoo. in Bydgoszcz, Poland became part of the
group to enhance the need for low-cost manufacturing. This facility employs 40
people and will continue to build molds up to 5 tons for packaging,
electronics, automotive and plumbing. The plant is ISO9001 registered and has
onsite testing facilities up to 500 ton presses. With a highly trained
workforce and low-cost manufacturing rates, Wentworth Tech. Central quickly
became a major focal point for the injection mold groups' response to Asian
competition. They use European skill and technology and the ability to
communicate in English, French, German, Spanish, Polish and other languages,
combined with a Canadian/American business style.
As part of a strategy to enter the European
market and provide high technology molds for the North American
market, a very important step was made by adding AMTEC Advanced
Mold Technologies GmbH of Hohenwestedt, Germany to the injection
mold group. With more than 100 employees in an ultra high
technology environment, this facility has been producing ultra
high precision molds for half a century. The facility was
acquired in January 2002. Walter Kuskowski, CEO of Wentworth
Tech-nologies spoke with great optimism with respect to the
plastics industry and the role AMTEC will play in its future.
New mold business will be developed to complement the current
diversification into automotive instrument panel components
and electronic parts, to include packaging application, caps
and closures and medical parts. Services that will be highlighted
include multiple material molding and stack mold technology.
These services represent key strengths for the Wentworth Technologies
Injection Mould Group.
